ECE 211 HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS AND SOLUTIONS - FALL 2001
Instructions: Work through all assigned HW problem sets on your own or in study groups, no later than the indicated "due" date. This requires self discipline but is essential to learning the material and keeping up with the course. The HW solutions will be posted a few days after the due date. You can then check your answers and comprehension. Solutions are in PDF format and require a password for access. Students registered for this course will be given the password. For additional practice, work as many of the Exercise problems as possible. These are generally easier to work than the HW problems, but will help your comprehension. Exercise answers will be posted. The exam questions will be based on material covered in the HW problems, Exercise problems, and example problems worked in class lecture notes - so it is essential that you work as many of these problems as possible.
You can get help on this website by clicking on Homework Solution Help. This page provides some worked exercises, hints and partial answers for some of the assigned problems, techniques for developing your problem-solving skills, information about electrical units, etc. You are encouraged to discuss homework solutions in a group. This is a good way to learn. However the homework solution you turn in must be your own, written in your own style. Copied homework solutions will not be accepted and will automatically be given a grade of zero. Unless otherwise indicated, the exercise and problem homeworks are from the Agarwal & Lang textbook. You are expected to work the indicated Exercise Problems in each chapter, most with answers provided. These are not to be turned in for grading. For example, Exercise 5 from Chapter 1 will be indicated as E1.5. Even though you won't turn these in for grading, you should try to work each Exercise Problem set by the indicated due date. You can check your answers against either those provided in the textbook, or against some detailed solutions for some of these problems under Homework Solution Help. The assigned problems associated with each chapter are to be worked and turned in by the indicated due date. For example, Problem 3 from Chapter 1 will be indicated as P1.3.
