ENDOWED CHAIR IN COMMUNICATIONS
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Massachusetts invites applications suitable for appointment at the senior level to fill the Gupta Endowed Chair in Communications and Communication Theory. We seek to aggressively grow our communications group to work in conjunction with our premier groups in microwave engineering and networking. The areas of interest for this search include, but are not limited to: source coding, error control coding, synchronization, equalization, and wireless networks. In addition to a demonstrated commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, candidates should have an understanding of diversity issues and their educational importance, a strong publication record in leading journals, demonstrated leadership and vision in their field, a demonstrated ability to attract significant external research support.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The committee will begin reviewing applications on September 15, 2006. The search will continue until the position is filled.
