Ball Center 408 At the beginning of the 90's it was estimated that transmission of digital data through the public switched network would double the total traffic load on the network by the year 2000. We have already exceeded that estimate. It was also a given that ATM was the technology needed to handle this load. This panel will discuss ATM and other new and old techiques for handing internet and other digital data traffic in the public switched network.
