This panel discusses the objectives of the next generation of the Internet and the resulting impact on research and educational community, network equipment manufacturers, and carriers. The new aspects of the network include, along with increased bandwidth, Quality of Service (QoS) parameters such as guranteed throughput, guaranteed bandwidth channels, and small or bounded latency.
