Abstract
Video-skimming for the purpose of reducing the view time of video
sequences is an important multimedia
application. By chaining key isolated frames together, one can obtain a
short synopsis of the video. In this
paper we will demonstrate image characterization techniques based on a new
method for calculating the
optical flow in a video sequence. It is shown that a nonlinear
anti-diffusive correction allows for a better
characterization of camera and subject motion within a scene.
