Abstract
In modern conservative oncotherapy ionizing and optical radiation are used
(radiotherapy = RT, phototherapy = PT, hyperthermia (thermotherapy = TT) and
cytostatics (chemotherapy = CH). According to an analysis the application of
different kinds of oncotherapies varied in large limits, e.g. the
Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT) is highly applied in Germany, France,
Japan, and USA, but nearly not in Belgium, China, Great Britain, India,
Spain, and Russia. The same situation is also with the application of TT and
CH.
- For a better future treatment of the population in different countries it
is necessary to build a network for oncotherapy between institutions in
different countries via internet, so that everyone can inform oneself about
the last state in every country.
- Also the possibility for an ad hoc teleinformation system during surgical
and conservative treatment with possibilities for direct consultations is
recommendable.
- It is necessary to organize an oncological data base about the efficacy of
the different methods including publications in this context giving patient
studies.
It is suggested that an support of the given proposals could be an essential
step for a better oncotherapy in general as well as in oncological treatment
in countries with underdeveloped oncological therapies.
