CMP, The Center for Manufacturing Productivity is a collaboration between the UMASS College of Engineering and the School of Management to provide a comprehensive program of assistance to manufacturers. It was founded in 1991 with a grant from the U.S. Small Business Association. CMP also is sponsored by Northeast Utilities, the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and industries utilizing CMP services.

CMP draws on expertise at the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center (MSBDC), another UMASS- based program, to help industries in such areas as international marketing and financial planning. CMP also works with other appropriate UMASS- based organizations and private sector consultants to provide your company with qualified experts.
