6th Year Ph. D.
Jared received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Utah. As an undergraduate he spent a semester abroad at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden. Jared joined Professor Henson's group in Fall 2003 and is currently working on dynamic modeling and genome-scale analysis of yeast metabolism.
4th Year Ph. D.
Pavan completed his Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering at IIT Madras, Chennai. His final year project was on the two phase flow through micro channels. He is co-advised by Professor Henson and Professor Lianhong Sun, and he is currently working on experimental design and molecular modeling of quourm sensing sytems.
3rd Year Ph. D.
Marty completed his BS in Chemical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. After college, he worked for 3 years as a process control engineer for Amgen in the start up of their BioNext manufacturing facility. Marty is currently working on plant cell culture systems for the production of the anti-cancer agent paclitaxel, and is co-advised by Professor Henson and Professor Susan Roberts.
5th Year Ph. D.
Neha Raikar came from Mumbai, India. She completed her Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering at University Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. Her final year project was on polymerisation reactor design for polyester production. Neha is co-advised by Professor Henson, Professor Mike Malone, and Professor Surita Bhatia, and she is currently working on design and operation strategies for manufacturing structured emulsions.
2nd Year Ph. D.
Jason received his bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 2007. He interned for three months at the Process Dynamics and Control Group at DuPont in Wilmington Delaware, before joining Professor Henson's group. He is presently working on design and operation strategies for manufacturing structured emulsions. Jason is co-advised by Professor Henson, Professor Mike Malone, and Professor Julian McClements, and is currently working on design and operation strategies for manufacturing structured emulsions.
3rd Year Ph. D.
Christina received her bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. After graduating she spent a year as a research assistant in RWTH, Aachen. Christina joined Professor Henson's group in 2006 and is currently working on modeling the circadian rhythm generation and synchronization in mammalian cells.
6th Year Ph. D.
Raja obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemical Engineering with specialization in process systems design and engineering through the dual degree program at IIT Bombay. His Master's thesis was titled "Non-linear Stochastic Model Indentification using GOBF-Weiner Models" under the guidance of Prof. S. C. Patwardhan and Prof. R. D. Gudi. He is presently working on Dynamic Modeling of Tumor Growth under the guidance of Professor Henson and Professor Neil Forbes.
