Searching For Internships
and Co-Ops
The best
way to start looking for scholarships and internships is to
ask other students who've already been a
part of one, family members, and friends who work
for a company you're interested in for help. Have them look
around at their workplace for you, or if they would be willing
to be a reference.
Make
sure to ask your school resources for assistance as well!
UMass's Campus
Career Network is a great resource. If you search by school or
college, there's some great information related to just Engineers.
Attend the career and co-op fairs for Engineers. This year they
will be held:

Searching online
is another way to look for potential internships. Monster.com/Jobtrak.com
both work with the Campus Career Network to make a search customized
to UMass Students. Login now through either the Campus Career
Network site or at campus.monster.com.
If you start looking
now as a first year Chemical Engineering student, you may find
a position open not this upcoming year, but perhaps your sophomore
or junior year. Don't let this discourage you! Prepare yourself
now for a future co-op or internship by being the best student
you can, working on your résumé, and asking your
professors and advisors for assistance on getting ready to do
your co-op later on in your college career!
