The resort gives directions as follows:

Access by Air: Savannah's International Airport (45 minutes from the island.) is served by major airlines including Delta, USAir and ValuJet. Limousine and taxi service is available, and all major car rental agencies are represented. Hilton Head Airport is served daily by commuter flights from Charlotte and Raleigh on USAir Express and Midway Airlines.

Access by Land: Located between Beaufort, SC and Savannah, GA, motorists traveling south on Interstate 95 take exit 28 (Coosawhatchie, SC 462). Northbound travelers on I-95 take exit 5 (Hardeeville, SC 17 North). Then follow the signs to Hilton Head Island. Palmetto Dunes Resort is located on U.S. 278, approximately 8 miles beyond the bridges to the island. Turn left off Hwy 278, our Reception Center is the first building on the right and is always open for our guests.

Access by Rail: Amtrak serves Savannah and Charleston with several trains daily.
