Municipal Clients

CEERE helps municipal clients to reduce their energy consumption and operating costs through the following programs:

Industrial Assessment Center
Through the U.S. Department of Energy's IAC program, we provide no-cost energy assessments for New England manufacturers and water/wastewater treatment facilities. Our team of engineers reviews your utility bills and spends a day on-site, and then we provide a confidential report recommending cost-effective measures to improve energy efficiency, reduce pollution and waste, and lower operating costs in your facility. Learn about the program, eligibility criteria, and success stories on our IAC page.

UMass Clean Energy Extension
CEERE is a partner in this program, which offers support to Massachusetts cities and towns seeking to understand their energy use and increase their energy efficiency and use of renewable energy. Learn more on the UMass Clean Energy Extension Municipal Assistance page.

Combined Heat and Power
Combined heat and power (CHP), also known as cogeneration, is a highly efficient approach to generating electric power and useful thermal energy from a single fuel at the point of use.

As partners in the U.S. Department of Energy's New York-New Jersey CHP Technical Assistance Partnership, we offer no-cost screenings, technical assistance, economic analysis, and expert advice to help determine if CHP is a good fit for sites throughout New York and New Jersey. Learn more on the NY-NJ CHP Technical Assistance Partnership site.

Over the past 15 years, we have supported the successful installation of many CHP systems in Massachusetts. We currently offer no-cost assistance with CHP in Massachusetts on a case by case basis. Contact us for more information.

For assistance with CHP in other New England states, contact the New England CHP Technical Assistance Partnership.

Massachusetts Energy Efficiency Partnership
