Shallow Foundation News
  • The International Symposium on Shallow Foundations was held in Paris on November 5-7th, 2003. Click here to view the Table of Contents from the Volume 1 of the proceedings. Volume 2 will be added when it is available.
  • The Shallow Foundations Committee is organizing a part 1 division on Mat Foundations for GeoFrontiers 2005 to be held in Austin, Texas. The goal of the session will be to get perspectives on the design of mat foundations from a practicing geotechnical and structural engineer and an academia. Unresolved issues related to mat foundations, regarding flexible vs. rigid mats, subgrade reaction and other subjects will be discussed.
